Chapter 1 - A Rich Seam

The new pedagogies require students to create new knowledge and connect it to the world by using the power of digital tools.
How could this Look at ISPS?

No longer is the teacher the soul source of knowledge as students enter the school gate. For generations teachers have been in control of what they would like the students to learn and the direction the students take on their journey to do so.

In today’s learning in the classroom it is no longer the teacher and student and even staff divided. It is that everyone is the teacher and everyone is the learner especially when it comes to the use of technology. If we want the “Deep learning” to replace some of the traditional pedagogies we as a staff need to embrace the new pedagogies of using technology in the classroom with students.

At ISPS we need to be on the same page not all at once but to accept the shift to work towards a collaborative enterprise as students enter their learning. Embracing new ways of teaching is often hard to accept as we don’t really like to leave our comfort zone. I believe with support from staff we can all eventually try the new pedagogies within teaching.
